Some tools you may need

Tweezers or a pick, a hairdryer, heat gun or if you're feeling dangerous a blow torch.

1. Clean the device: Use a cloth and a non greasy cleaner if needed to remove dust & dirt from the device.
2. Remove the cutouts: Some skins have a lot of cut outs for devices that have buttons or vent holes [Legion Go & Xbox series S come to mind] and to make it easier removing the cut outs can help. It's not always required and sometimes the skins can be lifted from the backing paper and the cut outs stay on the sheet. To remove the cut outs just use tweezers or a pick to lift and stick them out of the way on the edge of the sheet.
3. Applying the skin: Lift the skin from the backing paper and align on the device. Some skins come in parts so this step will need to be repeated. Use the devices buttons or cutouts to help with alignment if it has them. When the position is correct gently press down on the skin working towards the edges, devices that are curved like gaming controllers etc are more difficult, the skin may seem like it wants to wrinkle do not worry this is when the hairdryer comes in handy. Skins on curved devices require heat so gently warm up the skin to soften and smooth out the wrap as it gets closer to the edges, this step can be done gradually to get the best fit.
4. The finishing touches: When the skin is on the device and smoothed out it's time to apply more pressure to ensure the skin is stuck and fully achieve the adhesive stick. Using the cloth wipe over the surface of the skin making sure it is all pressed down firmly. Even if heat was not needed while fitting the skin for the best use and feel it's better to warm up the edges of the skin and wipe over them firmly to give it a sealed smooth feel.
