In Process of Creating Skins for the New Steam Controller
Share
We're excited to share an update on a project we've been working on behind the scenes at GhostlyGuard, custom wrap skins designed specifically for the new Steam Controller. just wanted to give a look at the process and how we go about testing a revision.
Creating protective skins that look great and fit perfectly requires careful planning and multiple iterations. We've been testing different template styles and application methods to ensure our final product meets the high standards our customers expect. The goal is to deliver skins that cover as much of the front face of the Valve Steam Controller, without the process being to difficult for the end user or so that during gameplay it feels great to hold still.
To show you exactly where we're at in the development process, we've put together a video walkthrough of our first finalized revision. This video takes you through the design considerations and the initial fit of the first test of this template, it may require adjustments but spending a few days with scrap pieces of vinly wrap, taking precise meassurments and using images to come up with the tamplate we are hoping it is close to finished, pending how user reception is.
Check out the video below to see the prototype in action and get a sense of what's coming:
We're still refining a few details based on feedback and testing & wating on more, but we're thrilled with how this first revision has turned out. Stay tuned for updates as we move closer to launch. If you have any suggestions or design ideas you'd like to see on future skins, we'd love to hear from you.
